Cincinnati Bengals Sign Former Utah State DB Jalen Davis To New Deal

SALT LAKE CITY – The Cincinnati Bengals announced that they’ve signed former Utah State defensive back Jalen Davis to a new contract.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport first reported Davis’ new deal on Thursday, March 9. A few hours later, the Bengals officially announced Davis’ new deal.
The former USU cornerback will stay with the Bengals after agreeing to a two-year contract. Davis will remain with the AFC North champs rather than hit the open market when free agency begins on March 15 at 2 p.m. (MDT).

“The #Bengals are signing a few of their own, reaching deals with LB Joe Bachie and CB Jalen Davis, sources say. Bachie gets a 1-year deal rather than an RFA tender and Davis gets a 2-year deal. Cincy builds depth and continuity,” Rapoport tweeted about Davis’ new contract.

Last offseason, Davis signed a one-year contract to remain with the Bengals.
In 2022, Davis helped the Bengals to a 12-4 record in the regular season. Cincinnati reached the AFC Championship Game in the postseason.

About Jalen Davis
Prior to his time in the league, the La Mesa, California native played at Utah State from 2014-17.
During his four seasons with the Aggies, Davis recorded 181 total tackles, 123 solo tackles, 17.0 tackles for loss, 8.0 sacks, 11 interceptions, four touchdowns, 37 pass breakups, and four forced fumbles.

In 2018, Davis joined the Miami Dolphins after going undrafted. He spent one season in Miami. After his time with the Dolphins, the defensive back spent time on the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad from 2019-20. He joined the Dolphins as a free agent in 2020.
Last season, Davis played in 13 games, totaling two tackles and one fumble recovery.
During his NFL career, Davis has recorded 19 total tackles, 10 solo tackles, one sack, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one pass breakup. He’s played in 37 games.
Davis has become a standout special teams player for the Bengals.
