With 10:41 remaining in the first half, Houston’s Royce Freeman ran the ball seven yards to the Colts’ 14-yard line before Indianapolis’ E.J. Speed punched the ball free. Blackmon scooped up the fumble and returned the ball 34 yards to the Indianapolis 42-yard line.

It was the former Utah standout’s first fumble recovery as an NFL player.

At the time of Blackmon’s recovery, the Colts trailed the Texans, 10-7. Unfortunately for Blackmon and Indianapolis, the Colts gave the ball back to the Texans on the following play as Sam Ehlinger tossed a pick-six to give Houston a 17-7 lead.

Late in the first half, Blackmon had four total tackles, three solo tackles, and a tackle for loss.

This season, the safety has recorded 42 total tackles, 30 solo tackles, one sack, two pass breakups, and one interception.
