SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Utah quarterback Tyler Huntley has signed an undrafted free agent deal with the Baltimore Ravens.

Utah had seven players selected in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The former Utah signal caller is headed to Baltimore to join a offense that had a 14-2 record in 2019.

Shortly after Huntley’s signing, Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell congratulated the former Utah signal-caller with a post on Twitter and told Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson to take care of new signee.

Mitchell and Jackson both attended college at Louisville and are good friends.

Tyler Huntley’s Collegiate Career

The Dania, Florida native had a tremendous career at Utah. His freshman season in 2016, Huntley played in four games as the backup to Troy Williams.

Huntley’s sophomore season in 2017 saw him beat out Williams for the starting job in fall camp. He started 10 games and threw for 2,411 yards, 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. On the ground, Huntley was second on the team in rushing touchdowns with six and in yards with 537.

In 2018, Huntley improved his game before suffering a season-ending injury against Arizona State that led to him missing the final five games including the Pac-12 Championship and the Holiday Bowl. Before the injury, Huntley was 6-3 as the starter and threw for 1,788 yards, 12 touchdowns and 6 interceptions.

Last season in 2019 as a senior, Huntley had a breakout season after starting all 14 games for the Utes. Huntley completed .731 percent of his passes which was first in the Pac-12 and second in the country. He threw for 3,092 yards, 19 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. In the ground game, he racked up 290 yards and 5 touchdowns. He was named first team All-Pac-12.

Tyler Huntley’s Pro Day Results

Huntley was not invited to the NFL Combine and Utah’s pro day was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. At his personal pro day, Huntley recorded the following results:
