SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Three local college football players accepted invitations to participate virtually in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The NFL announced on Monday, April 6 that this year’s draft would be “fully virtual” due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Former Utah State quarterback Jordan Love and Utah standouts Jaylon Johnson and Zack Moss were among 58 players listed as virtual participants for the Draft.

“League and club facilities are set to remain closed indefinitely to ensure the NFL is in compliance with current novel coronavirus regulations,” according to NFL.com. “Therefore clubs were advised to prepare to conduct the draft outside of their facilities with personnel advised to be in separate locations, using phone and the internet to communicate.

In March, the league canceled all public events for April’s NFL Draft. This year’s Draft was originally scheduled to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Jordan Love – Quarterback, Utah State

As a junior in 2019, Love threw for 3,402 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions.

The former Aggie had a breakout season in 2018 when he threw for 3,567 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions. He was named the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 2018.

In three seasons as the starting quarterback for Utah State, Love threw for 8,283 yards, 57 touchdowns, and 28 interceptions.

He posted 102 total tackles, 88 solo tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sacks, 7 interceptions, 28 pass breakups, and 2 touchdowns.

Johnson helped Utah win back-to-back Pac-12 South titles in 2018 and 2019.

Zack Moss – Running Back, Utah

Moss finished his career as a Ute as the school’s all-time leading rusher. During his Utah career, Moss recorded 712 carries for 4,067 yards and 38 touchdowns on the ground. He appeared in 45 games.

He added 66 receptions for 685 yards and 3 touchdowns out of the backfield.
