Finau Finishes Fifth At Masters, Congratulates Tiger Woods For Winning

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Utah’s Tony Finau finished tied for fifth place in his second Masters appearance, but it was Tiger Woods, his playing partner on Sunday, who stole the show by winning the tournament.
It was the 15th majors victory of Woods’ career and his first since 2009.
Finau came into the final day of the tournament on fire after shooting a 64 in the third round to put himself in a tie with Woods for second place. They were paired together to end the tournament on Sunday, along with then-leader Francesco Molinari.

While Woods shot a 2-under-par to win the green jacket, Finau’s even par score of 70 brought him to the tied-for-fifth spot and netted him a payout of over $400,000.
It was the best Masters finish in Finau’s career. He previously finished in a tie for 10th at last year’s tournament, even after dislocating his ankle while celebrating a hole-in-one during the Par 3 tournament.
After the result, Finau, along with the rest of the sporting world, congratulated Woods on his incredible feat. He was also the first person to embrace and congratulate Woods after he sunk his final putt to clench the victory.
