Report: Ivy League Fall Sports Canceled Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Ivy League is shutting down fall sports for the 2020 season.

According to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, the conference has informed their programs that fall sports teams will not be competing.
The conference will not entertain any sports being played until after January 1, 2021. The winter sports teams will have an update on their respective practice schedules later this month.

The Ivy League has not announced anything regarding their decision but is expected to do so in the coming days.
Back in March, the Ivy League canceled its basketball tournament with many saying it was an overreaction to the coronavirus but two days later the NCAA Tournament was canceled and the NBA and NHL halted play.
If this report is true, the big question is will other conferences follow the same path as the Ivy League?
