The Utah Royals’ 2024 No. 1 overall pick Ally Sentnor is headed to her next team.

The deal set a new record for NWSL intra-league transfers. The money will be spread over three years, with an additional $100,000 on the table if certain conditional performance numbers are met.
Sentnor played in 34 games with the Royals since being drafted. In those games, she scored four goals and posted five assists.
She also made 12 appearances for the USWNT, scoring four goals in international competition.

Currently, the Utah Royals sit at the bottom of the NWSL table with a 1-10-2 record.
According to ESPN sources, Utah had entertained offers for Sentnor all summer. The deal they decided on brought in a record dollar amount, but no returning players.
In a press release from the club, Sentnor thanked both the Royals and Utah for her time in the Beehive State.
Thank you to the Royals for drafting this small town girl and giving me the opportunity to start a lifelong dream of playing professional soccer. Thank you for the opportunities and experiences on and off the field. The Royals became an instant family and I want to thank Utah for the love and the lessons. My time in your beautiful state will be remembered fondly.
She will join a Kansas City team that currently holds the best record in the league.
Three of the top 10 goal scorers in the NWSL play for the current, and this move brings in another dynamic striker as they look to contend for a championship.
Sentnor and Kansas City will face the Royals at America First Field on Friday, August 8.
