SALT LAKE CITY – 26-year-old forward Kailer Yamamoto is returning to the Utah Mammoth after agreeing to a one-year, two-way contract with the team.
The club announced the agreement on Tuesday, July 1. The deal is worth $775,000 at the NHL level.

Yamamoto played 12 games with Utah last season. He scored three points (2 goals, 1 assist) and picked up one minor penalty.
He tallied 20 goals and 36 assists in 54 games with the Tucson Roadrunners of the American Hockey League.
The Spokane, Washington, native began his pro career after being taken 22nd overall by the Edmonton Oilers in 2017.
He played 26 games combined at the NHL level between 2017 and 2019. Yamamoto scored a career-high 41 points (20 goals, 21 assists) while playing a career-high 81 games in 2021-22.

The 5-foot-9, 178-pound forward played 59 games with Seattle in 2023-24 before joining the expansion Utah Hockey Club in October 2024.
Yamamoto has 60 goals and 77 assists in 315 career NHL games.
