SALT LAKE CITY – For the second straight year, the NHL is bringing back the Stanley Pup. With one dog representing each team in the league, the three-day event blends hockey and heart, showcasing adoptable rescue pups as they compete on the “ice” in a playful push to promote pet adoption.
The Utah Mammoth unveiled the pup that will represent them in New York: Meet Logan Drooly.

The play on words between hockey stars and canines is a theme in the event, with other names including Sidney Pawsby, Tyler Barktuzzi, and Filip Fursberg.
In 2024, the event featured just the 16 teams that made the playoffs. In a widely appreciated move by the NHL, the pool was increased to all 32 teams for 2025. More exposure and more pups!
Celebrities and NHL players are set to make special appearances. The dog-loving celebrities include Tim Allen, Cedric the Entertainer, Cheri Oteri, George Lopez, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Bublé, Nikki Glaser, Paula Abdul, and Will Reeve.
NHL players set to introduce the adorable field are Troy Terry (Anaheim Ducks), Jaccob Slavin (Carolina Hurricanes), Sam Bennett (Florida Panthers), Tyler Toffoli (San Jose Sharks), Victor Hedman (Tampa Bay Lightning), Alex Kerfoot (Utah Mammoth), and Brandon Duhaime, and Ryan Leonard (Washington Capitals).
The game features punk-sized chew toys and mini nets, I’m sure you see where this is going.
Mark Shunock, Chris Rose, and Michelle Gingras will be there to commentate on the furry competition.
The 90-minute show has a few different airtimes so that you can make sure to fetch the action.
