Utah Utes Strike First In Rose Bowl Game On Strike From Rising To Covey

PASADENA, Calif. – The Utah football team struck first in the Rose Bowl Game against the Ohio State Buckeyes on a strike from Cam Rising to Britain Covey.
The No. 11 Utes played the No. 6 Buckeyes at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California on Saturday, January 1.
With 9:29 remaining in the opening quarter, Rising threw a dart over the middle to Covey for a 19-yard touchdown.
Covey’s catch gave Utah an early 7-0 lead.

The Rising-Covey connecting capped a five-play, 56-yard drive that lasted 1:37.
Following the toss, Rising was 3/5 passing for 41 yards and a touchdown. Rising entered the game having thrown for 2,279 yards, 18 touchdowns, and five interceptions this season.
After the reception, Covey had one catch for 19 yards and a touchdown. Covey came to Pasadena with 49 receptions for 480 yards and two touchdowns this season.
