Utah State LB David Woodward Named Quarterfinalist For Lott Trophy

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State linebacker David Woodward was named a quarterfinalist for the Lott IMPACT Trophy.
The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation announced the organization’s quarterfinalist list on Wednesday, October 9.
Woodward was one of 20 college football defensive players to make the list.

The linebacker is one of two players from the Mountain West Conference to be featured as a quarterfinalist for the award. Boise State’s Curtis Weaver is also listed.
The Utah State linebacker leads college football with four forced fumbles this season. He is second in the nation in tackles per game with 14.2.

The Lott Trophy, named after college football and NFL legend Ronnie Lott, “recognizes the player who makes the biggest impact on his team, both on and off the field.”
Voting for the award is done by a board of directors, former players, former coaches, and journalists.
The winner of the award will be announced on December 15. The foundation will donate $25,000 to the scholarship fund to the winner’s school and $5,000 to the schools of the three runner-ups.
Woodward and the Aggies have a bye week before hosting the Nevada Wolfpack on Saturday, October 19 at 8:15 p.m. (MDT).
