SALT LAKE CITY – Former BYU star guard and NCAA National Player of the Year Jimmer Fredette believes in Kevin Young and the BYU Cougars as March Madness approaches. The leader of the last Cougar team to reach the Sweet 16, Fredette released his full bracket for the 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.
Now an NCAA Tournament analyst, Fredette predicts BYU will advance to the second weekend before falling to No. 2 Alabama in the Sweet 16. He also has the Utah State Aggies beating UCLA in the first round, marking the Aggies’ second tournament win in as many seasons.
Fredette released his bracket on social media on Tuesday, March 18.

If Fredette’s Final Four prediction of Auburn, Florida, Duke, and Houston comes true, it would be the second time in tournament history that all four No. 1 advanced to the final weekend. Fredette doesn’t see parity paying off this season, as he expects the top eight seeds to reach the Elite 8.

The Yahoo analyst expects the Duke Blue Devils to prevail in 2025. It would be the program’s sixth national title since 1991.
