Delta Center To Reportedly Host In-State CBB Double Header

SALT LAKE CITY – Delta Center is gearing up for a busy year, with renovations on deck and both the Jazz and Mammoth seasons ahead.
Adding to the action, Utah and Utah State basketball will feature in a non-conference doubleheader on December 13 in downtown Salt Lake City.

The Aggies will face off against Illinois State. Utah is set to take on Mississippi State. The tip-off times for these games have not been released yet, but as of now, the games are both set to be played at the Delta Center on December 13.
Utah, Mississippi State History
The Utes and Bulldogs game is the second of a two‑year, neutral‑site series. In 2024, they played at Landers Center in Southaven. Mississippi State outscored Utah by 16 in the second half to win, 78-73. The win kept them undefeated and handed Utah its first loss of the year.
The all-time series between the two schools is 3-0 in favor of MSU. All three games have been played at neutral sites and the Bulldogs have an average margin of victory of 7.3 points.
The Utes went on to finish with a 16-17 record in 2024, which was good for 11th in the Big 12. Mississippi State finished at 21-13, 9th in the SEC.
Utah State, Illinois State History
The game between the Aggies and the Redbirds is a one-off, not a part of a series. However, there is a bit more history between the schools.
USU and ISU have faced off seven times, with Utah State leading the all-time series 4-3. The most recent game was in November 2014, the Aggies won 60-55.
Utah State finished last year with a 26-8 record and an NCAA Tournament appearance. The Redbirds went 22-14, placing them fifth in the Missouri Valley Conference.
