BYU Football Lands Commitment From Orem High’s Lopeti Moala

PROVO, Utah – BYU football didn’t go far to land its latest commitment in the class of 2026.
Orem High defensive lineman Lopeti Moala announced his commitment to BYU on Monday afternoon.

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound Moala, who could play defensive tackle in his college career, made his commitment public on social media.
“Thank you to all of the coaches and schools who have shown interest in me and have supported me throughout this journey and the recruiting process,” wrote Moala on Instagram. “At this time, I would like to announce that, after many conversations with my parents, personal prayer, and counsel with my Heavenly Father, I have decided to commit and further my education and play football at the next level at Brigham Young University under Coach Kalani Sitake and his staff. Go Cougs!”
Lopeti Moala a.k.a. “Juni” commits to BYU Football
Lopeti Moala a.k.a. “Juni” is a three-star prospect and is the 14th overall prospect from the state of Utah in the class of 2026, according to the 247Sports Composite.
He played the past three seasons at Davis High School in Kaysville.
Last year for the Darts, Moala had 79 tackles and seven tackles for loss.
Moala picked BYU over a final four that included Stanford, UCLA, and Utah. He also received offers from Big 12 foes Arizona, Arizona State, and Oklahoma State.
The addition of Moala brings BYU’s recruiting class for the 2026 cycle up to 15 commitments. He is rated as the sixth-highest prospect in BYU’s class by 247Sports.
