Marion had 24 receptions for 346 receiving yards and one touchdown last season. He also had 96 rushing yards on 21 rushes.
However, his biggest impact last season was in the kick return game, where he earned All-America honors.
Marion averaged 26.2 yards per return and two kick return touchdowns last season, including one against rival Utah last November.
The decision to enter the Transfer Portal comes as a surprise, as Marion was expected to be a starter and key contributor for BYU in the 2025 season.
He was a standout performer during spring practices last month and was going to be looked upon for an increased role this year.
On X, BYU starting left tackle Isaiah Jatta shared a sad emoji in response to the news.

Last night, BYU offered San Jose State transfer wide receiver TreyShun Hurry, who is currently in the Transfer Portal.
BYU still has Chase Roberts and Parker Kingston as veteran receivers. They also have Jojo Phillips, Tei Nacua, and Cody Hagen as returning underclassmen. Then, BYU also has freshmen Dominique McKenzie and LaMason Waller III.
Waller wrote on X in response to Marion planning on entering the portal, “Be great fam!”
Marion has spent the past two seasons at BYU after transferring in from UConn.
BYU football opens the 2025 season against the Portland State Vikings on Saturday, August 30, in Provo.
