BYU Signee, Bountiful QB Emerson Geilman Earns Prestigious Recognition

SALT LAKE CITY – Future BYU football quarterback Emerson Geilman earned a prestigious award to cap off his high school career.
The National Football Foundation named the former Bountiful High star as one of 82 players to the 2025 “Team of Distinction.”
NFF’s Team of Distinction recognizes high school scholar-athletes from across the country for their combined performance on the football field, in the classroom, and in the community.

BYU Signee, Bountiful High QB Emerson Geilman named to NFF’s Team of Distinction
Geilman was the submitted recipient from the NFF Utah Chapter.
He earned a 4.0 GPA at Bountiful High School, was a member of the National Honor Society, part of the National AP Award, and is an Eagle Scout.
On the football field, Geilman was a two-year team captain for Bountiful and was the Deseret News’ 5A Player of the Year.
He led Bountiful High to a 5A State Championship in 2024. In the process, he set Bountiful High passing records for career yards and touchdowns.
In the championship win over Roy at Rice-Eccles Stadium, Geilman accounted for two touchdowns in the 42-35 victory.
Geilman is preparing for his freshman year at BYU in 2025
Geilman is preparing for his first season with the BYU football program this fall before serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He attended all of BYU’s spring practices, observing BYU’s quarterback unit earlier this year.

Last year, Geilman was named a quarterback MVP at BYU’s on-campus camp.
Geilman competed in an Elite 11 regional in Las Vegas in the spring of 2024. He posted the second-best rating among the quarterbacks that competed in Vegas, with a 95.82 rating.
The 95.82 rating consisted of a 4.7 40-yard dash, 38-inch vertical jump, 4.47 shuttle, and other testing metrics.
