SALT LAKE CITY – EA Sports College Football 26 officially launched on Monday, July 7, to individuals who purchased “early access” to the game.
It’s the second year of the series’ return, following an 11-year hiatus that ended last year.

Last year’s game, EA Sports College Football 25, was the best-selling sports game of all time in the United States.
The worldwide release of EA Sports College Football 26 is scheduled for Thursday, July 10.
What’s always fun on the first day of a college football video game’s release is seeing the fresh set of ratings.
Keep in mind that a leak of the ratings occurred in June from TeamCrafters.net. After reviewing the official launch ratings, it appears the leaks were accurate.
EA Sports College Football 26 ratings for BYU
BYU football ranks as the preseason No. 14 team in the country in the video game, with an 87 overall on offense and an 84 on defense.
Keep in mind that the initial release does include quarterback Jake Retzlaff, who is reportedly planning to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Retzlaff is one of BYU’s highest-rated players in the game with an overall of 88. He is rated as a top-20 quarterback in the game.
BYU’s highest-rated player in the game is redshirt-senior wide receiver Chase Roberts. He received a 90 overall, which puts him in a tie for the 11th-highest-rated receiver in the game.
Another notable rating from BYU is kicker Will Ferrin. He received an 82 rating, which places him as the seventh-highest-rated kicker in the game.
You could argue that the rating should be higher for Ferrin, who was close to automatic for BYU last season.
Last year, EA Sports had updates throughout the season. So there will be changes to these rosters.
One significant change in this year’s rosters is the position changes. EA Sports College Football 26 lists “EDGE” rushers, “SAM,” “MIKE,” and “WILL” linebackers.
