SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz saw their six-game win streak come to an end at the hands of the Golden State Warriors 123-116 to open the new year.

The Warriors were playing without Draymond Green but put together an impressive defensive performance holding the Jazz to just 43 percent shooting from the floor and 33 percent from the three-point line.

Jordan Clarkson, Bojan Bogdanovic, Rudy Gobert, and Donovan Mitchell all scored 20 points but was outdueled by Andrew Wiggins and Steph Curry who combined for 52 points in the Warriors win.

First Quarter

The Jazz struggled with the Warriors’ excellent defense in the first quarter shooting just 33 percent from the floor and 18 percent from the three-point line.

Mitchell, Royce O’Neale, Rudy Gobert, and Bogdanovic were the only Jazz players to make a bucket while Mike Conley, Joe Ingles, Rudy Gay, and Clarkson combined to shoot 0-8 from the floor.

Otto Porter had 11 points, five assists, and four rebounds in the first quarter to lead the Warriors.

After one, the Jazz trailed Golden State 29-24.

Second Quarter

The Jazz found their first real offensive rhythm of the half behind Clarkson in the second quarter.

Against the switch-heavy Warriors defense, Clarkson’s ability to score in isolation was the Jazz’s best option, and he had 12 points to lead the Jazz at the break.

The Jazz trimmed Golen State’s lead to just five midway through the quarter, but a 13-5 run to close to quarter rebuild the Warriors lead.

At the break, the Jazz trailed the Warriors 64-50.

Third Quarter

The Jazz opened the quarter on a 29-10 run to erase the Warriors halftime lead and take a 79-74 advantage.

After knocking down just 4-21 first half threes, the Jazz connected on 5-7 to open the quarter as a part of their massive run.

The Jazz defense also locked up the Warriors holding them to 22 points on 7-19 shooting.

After three, the Jazz led Golden State 91-86.

Fourth Quarter

The Warriors’ defense clicked in again to open the fourth quarter and allowed them to cut the Jazz lead from eight to one.

Mitchell struggled mightily from the floor throughout the game after a brilliant game on Friday, shooting just 4-19, including 2-9 from the three-point line for 20 points.

Golden State ultimately pulled away from the Jazz due to a 5-0 run from Steph Curry who finished with 27 points on 8-18 shooting, including 6-12 from three.

The Jazz snapped their six-game losing streak with a 123-116 loss to the Warriors.
