Utah Jazz EVP Dennis Lindsey Finishes Runner-Up For NBA Executive Of The Year Award

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Jazz executive vice president of basketball operations Dennis Lindsey finished as the runner-up for the NBA’s Executive of the Year award for the 2020-21 season.

The NBA announced the voting results for the EOY award on Sunday, June 20.

James Jones of the Phoenix Suns won the award 65 total points, including nine first place votes.

Lindsey finished behind Jones with 61 total points, while also receiving nine first place votes.

Before joining Utah’s organization, Lindsey served as an executive with the Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs.

Following his time with the Spurs, Lindsey was hired as the Jazz’s general manager in 2012.

He was promoted to EVP of basketball operations in 2019.

Lindsey, along with Jazz general manager Justin Zanik, assembled a roster that finished the regular season with the league’s best record and the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference playoff race.

After beating the No. 8 seed Memphis Grizzlies, 4-1, in the first round of the postseason, the Jazz were eliminated by the Los Angeles Clippers.

Following an 0-2 hole to start the series against the Jazz, the Clippers won four straight games to advance from the Western Conference Semifinals.
