Second Unit Boosts Utah Jazz During First Half Against New York Knicks

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The bench unit boosted the Utah Jazz to a double-digit halftime lead on the road against the New York Knicks.

The Knicks hosted the Jazz at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, January 6.

After getting blasted by the Brooklyn Nets a night earlier, the Jazz were shaky to start against the Knicks.

Five minutes into the contest and his team down 9-4, Jazz head coach Quin Snyder went to his bench and put Joe Ingles onto the court.

A few minutes later, Jordan Clarkson joined Ingles and the Jazz turned a deficit into a lead.

Utah bounced back to take a 27-20 lead at the end of the first 12 minutes of action.

The second quarter continued to go Utah’s way with a 29-24 margin over the next 12 minutes.

The Jazz owned a 56-44 lead at the halftime break.

At the half, Clarkson, along with Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert, led the Jazz with 10 points.

Ingles scored eight points and dished out three assists.

The Jazz shot 53.5 percent overall and 42.1 percent on three-pointers.

By comparison, New York shot 45.0 percent from the field, including 20.0 percent on triples.
