Report: Jazz Sign UDFA RJ Luis To Two-Way Contract

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz have reportedly signed free agent RJ Luis to a two-way contract, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Luis went unselected in the 2025 NBA Draft, but signed with the Jazz soon after the conclusion of the second round.

Luis joins the Jazz after a productive three-year college career, which began at the University of Massachusetts before transferring to St. John’s for his sophomore and junior seasons.
In his final season at St. John’s, Luis averaged 18.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists while shooting 44 percent from the floor and 34 percent from the three-point line.
Luis, 22, had strong athletic testing numbers during the NBA Combine, recording a 38-inch vertical, as well as excellent times in the shuttle and three-quarter court sprint, but struggled during the Combine games.

The wing averaged 14.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in the two scrimmages, but shot just 9-29 from the floor, including 3-10 from the three-point line.
The Miami native is a strong rebounder for a perimeter player, but will need to improve his three-point shooting numbers in order to stick in the NBA.

The Jazz had two open two-way spots with the expiration of deals for Micah Potter and Oscar Tshiebwe.
Potter is entering his fifth season of NBA service and is no longer eligible to sign a two-way contract. Tshiebwe is eligible to sign a second two-way deal with the Jazz and has remained with the team during the offseason.
Players on two-way contracts are eligible to split time between the NBA and the G League, but cannot compete in the postseason play. Teams may carry three two-way contracts at any one time during the regular season.
Jazz Add Undrafted Center Steven Crowl
According to KSTP’s Darren Wolfson, the Jazz are inviting Wisconsin Badgers center Steven Crowl to participate in the Summer League.

Crowl averaged 9.9 points and 5.3 rebounds in his final season with the Badgers where he was teammates with the Jazz’s second-round pick John Tonje.
The center shot 43 percent from the three-point line over his final two seasons at Wisconsin.
