Report: Veteran F Rudy Gay Agrees To Deal With Utah Jazz

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz and veteran forward Rudy Gay have reportedly agreed to a deal for him to join the organization for the upcoming season.
Rudy Gay finished his 15th season in the NBA and brings a scoring mentality and veteran leadership to the Utah Jazz.
Both Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN and Shams Charania from The Athletic are reporting the move by Gay. According to Wojnarowski, Gay is signing a two-year deal that includes a player option.

He started his career in 2006 with the Memphis Grizzlies as the 8th overall pick in the draft. Gay spent six and a half seasons in Memphis playing with Mike Conley before being traded to the Toronto Raptors where he spent two seasons before being traded again, this time to the Sacramento Kings.
After three and a half seasons in Sacramento, Gay signed with the San Antonio Spurs where he has played the last four seasons. During the 2020-21 season, Gay played in 63 games with averages of 11.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.
For his career, Gay averages 16.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game, while shooting 45 percent from the field and 35 percent from the three-point line in 1,009 games played.
