Mitchell Helps Jazz To Big Halftime Lead After Strong Performance Against Grizzlies

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz had a big first half lead over the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night as Donovan Mitchell was a big reason for that.

Donovan Mitchell led the Jazz with 19 points in the first half as they held a 66-50 lead over the Memphis Grizzlies at Vivint Arena. Mitchell shot 8-of-11 from the field and 3-for-4 from the three-point line in 18 minutes on the floor.

The Jazz had two players in double figures in the first 24 minutes of play as Bojan Bogdanovic added 14 points. Ja Morant was the only Grizzlies player to score in double figures, leading the visiting side with 14 points.

Mitchell did a great job with helping the Jazz control the pace in the first half.

Utah shot 50 percent from the field, 33 percent from the three-point line, hitting just six triples. They outrebounded Memphis 30-22 and held the Grizzlies to 42 percent field goal shooting and 35 percent from beyond the arc.

The Jazz will play the Grizzlies in back-to-back games as they will play the rematch on Saturday, March 27 at 7 p.m. MT on AT&T SportsNet.
