SALT LAKE CITY- Current Utah Jazz guard and former Baylor Bear Keyonte George had a serendipitous meeting with his former college squad, hooking up with his old coaches and teammates for dinner during the Bears’ trip to the Utah Valley.
The Utah Jazz returned from a four-game road trip with a day between games and the Baylor Bears stayed in Salt Lake following their win over the Utah Utes last Saturday in preparation for their game down the road against BYU on Tuesday, allowing Keyonte to link up with the Baylor squad for dinner on the night of Sunday, January 26.
Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew posted a picture on X saying, “A good team meal and always GREAT seeing Keyonte George when in SLC.”

Keyonte George played only a single season at Baylor, his freshman year in 2022-2023. He averaged 15.3 points in his one year before declaring for the NBA draft and going 16th overall to the Utah Jazz.
Since Keyonte went one-and-done at Baylor, if he had stayed at school for all four years, he would only be a Junior for the Bears, meaning that Keyonte George would still be the seventh youngest member of the Baylor roster. This is a stunning realization when you consider that George, despite his young age, is averaging 16.2 points and 5.8 assists per game in the NBA.
