SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz suffered their first home loss of the season falling to the New York Knicks 118-111.

Kelly Olynyk had 26 points to lead the Jazz, but it was Jalen Brunson’s 25, including 12 in the fourth quarter that proved to be the difference.

The Jazz have now lost three straight games to fall to 10-6 on the season.

First Quarter

The Knicks jumped out to a quick five points, but the Jazz answered with a 12-4 run, and baskets were hard to come by for the rest of the quarter.

Both teams committed four first quarter turnovers which didn’t allow either the Jazz or Knicks to an early rhythm.

Kelly Olynyk led the Jazz with six points to match Julius Randle of the Knicks.

After one the Jazz led the Knicks 27-23.

Second Quarter

The Jazz built their lead to seven to open the second quarter but the Knicks closed the game, and neither team was able to build a lead larger than four before the end of the half.

Jalen Brunson and RJ Barrett had success attacking the Jazz perimeter defenders and combined for 15 points on 7-13 shooting in the quarter.

Olynyk continued to carry the Jazz adding nine points in the frame to bring his total to 15 at the half.

The Knicks closed the quarter on a 6-0 run and took a 61-58 lead into the break.

Third Quarter

Olynyk picked up his third and fourth fouls in the opening three minutes of the half and had to go to the bench.

The Jazz were able to grow their lead to seven late in the quarter, but the Knicks answered with an 8-0 run late in the period to take an 83-82 lead.

Simone Fontecchio, filling in for the injured Rudy Gay, sunk a late three as the Jazz retook an 85-83 lead to end the third.

Fourth Quarter

The Knicks caught fire early in the fourth quarter knocking down three threes in the first 2:40 of the quarter.

The Jazz were unable to answer on the offensive end, and the Knicks saw their lead climb to 10 midway through the quarter 101-91.

Jalen Brunson scored 12 fourth quarter points to carry New York to the victory.

The Jazz fell in Utah for the first time this season with a 118-111 loss to the New York Knicks.
