Jazz Release Phases For Welcoming Fans Back to Vivint Arena

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz emailed season ticket holders with updated information on how they plan to welcome fans back to Vivint Arena in phases.

According to an email obtained by KSL Sports,  there will be four phases to the plan beginning with the season in December and ending in July.

This is how the phases will breakdown.

Phase One: December-January

  • Staring with 1,500 fans.
  • Limited fan capacity with social distancing.
  • Opportunity for season ticket members to purchase individual game tickets at season ticket prices using credits from season ticket payments.
  • Locations will vary based on social distancing.
  • Hospitality suites open at limited capacity.

Phase Two: January-March

  • Increased fan capacity.
  • Limited fan capacity with social distancing.
  • Goal to increase fan capacity on a game-to-game basis in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
  • Season ticket members to receive multi-game packages. Locations will vary based on social distancing.
  • Opportunity for season ticket members to purchase individual game tickets at season ticket prices using credits from season ticket payments.
  • Hospitality suites open at limited capacity.

Phase Three:  March-May

  • Return of season ticket members
  • Goal to increase fan capacity to a level that will allow all season ticket members to return to Vivint Smart Home Arena in their seats for all remaining games.
  • Goal for season ticket members to receive their normal, season ticket member location. Locations may possibly vary in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
  • Goal to have hospitality suites fully open.
  • Opportunity for season ticket members to purchase additional individual game tickets using season ticket payment credits.

Phase Four: May-July

  • Goal to fill Vivint Smart Home Arena to capacity and bring the house down for Utah Jazz playoff basketball.

Early Tuesday the Jazz revealed their plan to welcome 1,500 fans back to Vivint Arena when games begin on December 22.

“The Utah Jazz today announced that home games at Vivint Arena will be played with a limited number of fans when the NBA season begins in December amid a series of enhanced health and safety measures implemented throughout the building in consultation with the Utah Department of Health,” the release said.

Preseason games will be held without fans. Though the fan phases have been planned, the Jazz have not released their 2020-21 schedule.
