SALT LAKE CITY – The next 10 games of the Utah Jazz schedule are the most important stretch of the season.
Exiting the All-Star break, the team is tied for the third-worst record in the NBA, and the second-worst record in the West, and their record over the next 18 days will go a long way toward determining their lottery odds.

Jazz Enter Critical 10-Game Stretch
With only 28 games remaining, every game is important when looking at the team’s draft lottery odds.
But due to the upcoming opponents, and the home-heavy schedule, the next 10 games stand above the rest.
Next Seven Games At Home
The Jazz’s first seven games out of the All-Star break will all be played in Utah where the team’s home-court advantage traditionally looms large.
Though the Jazz are on pace to win only 10 games at home, their worst record since moving to Utah in 1979, every game played at Delta Center feels like an opportunity for a win.

Of the Jazz’s next seven opponents, five have records above .500 (OKC, HOU, SAC, MIN, DET), three should safely make the playoffs (OKC, HOU, DET), two are currently in the play-in tournament (SAC, MIN), and two are lottery bound (POR, NOP).
The average winning percentage of the Jazz’s upcoming opponents is .524 which would rank seventh among the most difficult schedules if spread out across the remainder of the season.
Jazz’s Next Seven Home Opponents
Oklahoma City Thunder: 44-10
Houston Rockets: 34-21
Portland Trail Blazers: 23-32
Sacramento Kings: 28-27
Minnesota Wolves: 31-25
New Orleans Pelicans: 13-42
Detroit Pistons: 29-26
Road Trip Opens Against East’s Worst Team
Following the home stand, the Jazz will open a five-game road trip against three of the worst teams in the Eastern Conference.
The team will face the league-worst Washington Wizards on March 5, before traveling to face the Toronto Raptors on March 7, before meeting the Philadelphia 76ers on March 9.
With only 11 games remaining on the schedule against teams below .500, this three-game stretch on the road will be critical in determining the Jazz’s final record.
The three teams have an average win percentage of .282 and are a combined 71 games below .500.
Washington Wizards: 9-45
Toronto Raptors: 17-38
Philadelphia 76ers: 20-34
With one less loss than the Pelicans and one less win than the Charlotte Hornets, the final 28 games will be a tight race to see who can finish with the best lottery odds.
While every game is important, the next 10 are the most critical on the Jazz’s schedule.
