SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Jazz guard Trent Forrest continued his strong performance against the Denver Nuggets with a big slam dunk in the third quarter.

With nearly four minutes remaining in the third quarter, Trent Forrest went around a Nuggets defender and flew into the paint and threw down a big dunk with his right hand.

That gave the Jazz a 76-71 lead over the Nuggets. They had an 82-79 lead at the end of the third quarter. Through three quarters, Forrest had 11 points and six assists. Bojan Bogdanovic had 13 points and six rebounds, while Mike Conley dropped 12 points. Royce O’Neale added 11 points.

For Denver, Brynn Forbes had 18 points off the bench to lead the way. Monte Morris recorded 13 points, while Davian Reed added 11 points. The Nuggets were without reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokic and forward Aaron Gordon due to injury.

Donovan Mitchell missed his eighth straight game with a concussion while Rudy Gobert missed his fifth straight game with a calf strain. Head coach Quin Snyder is out for the second straight game while in the NBA’s health and safety protocol. Alex Jensen is the acting head coach.

In addition to Gobert and Mitchell who haven’t shared the floor since the team’s January 17 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, the team will be missing several other key contributors on the roster.

This will be the Jazz first game without Joe Ingles after the veteran star tore his ACL in the team’s Sunday night loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Reserve center Hassan Whiteside also missed tonight’s game with a lower back strain, as well as Danuel House Jr. who is in COVID protocol. Jordan Clarkson was out with knee soreness.

The Jazz and Nuggets game can be seen on ESPN or AT&T SportsNet and heard on The Zone Sports Network.
