Jazz Guard Donovan Mitchell Flies Past Rockets After Slick Crossover

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell neutralized the defense of the Rockets with an impressive crossover during the opening minutes of Utah’s game against Houston.

The Jazz hosted the Rockets at Vivint Arena on Friday, March 12.

With 8:15 left in the first quarter, Mitchell pulled a crossover on Houston and drove the lane for an easy layup.

Mitchell’s bucket stretched Utah’s early lead to 14-9.

The fourth-year guard scored nine of the Jazz’s first 14 points.

Mitchell began the contest shooting 3-5 from the field and 1-1 from three. He also dished out an assist during his first five minutes on the court.

This season, Mitchell is averaging 24.7 points per game on 42.1 percent shooting. He is also recording 4.7 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.0 steals per contest.

The Jazz entered the game against the Rockets with an NBA-best 27-9 record.
