SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz extended their win streak to four after downing the Atlanta Hawks 125-119.

Lauri Markkanen scored 32 points, a new high in a Jazz uniform, while Jordan Clarkson added 23 points

With the victory, the Jazz moved to 10-3 on the season.

First Quarter

Lauri Markkanen got the Jazz off to a hot start knocking down six free throws to open the game.

The two teams were tied at 11 before the Jazz built a double-digit lead behind an 11-0 run.

However, the Jazz bench struggled to maintain the lead shooting a combined 1-8 from the floor over the final 5:19 of the quarter.

After one, the Jazz led the Hawks 26-22 despite Markkanen’s career-high 16 point quarter.

Second Quarter

The bench performed stronger for the Jazz in the second quarter fueled by rookie Walker Kessler.

Kessler’s length bothered the Hawks defensively while his aggressiveness on offense led to easy baskets.

Markkanen upped his first half scoring total to 21 while Dejounte Murray led Atlanta with 11.

At the half the Jazz led the Hawks 63-54.

Third Quarter

After a difficult first the Hawks came out with better focus in the second half, opening the third quarter with a 14-5 run to tie the game at 68.

The Hawks built a 10 point lead against the Jazz starters behind Trae Young’s nine third quarter points.

The Jazz bench fueled a comeback over the final half of the quarter trimming the Haws lead in half.

After three the Jazz trailed the Hawks 90-85.

Fourth Quarter

The Jazz second unit overtook the Hawks building a 95-92 lead before Will Hardy put the starters back in the game.

Markkanen and Malik Beasley carried the Jazz offensive with a barrage of three-point shooting in the fourth building a 108-98 lead with five minutes left to play.

Both teams struggled to get stops down the stretch, but it was the Jazz who ultimately outlasted Atlanta for the win.
