SALT LAKE CITY – There has been a strong outpouring of support for Utah Jazz guard Joe Ingles after suffering a devastating knee injury Sunday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Ingles collapsed after his knee gave out on a non-contact injury midway through the second quarter of the eventual loss.

On Monday, the team announced Ingles had a torn ACL and would need to undergo surgery to repair the knee, ending the guard’s season.

The injury led Ingles teammates both past and present to share their support for the guard on social media.

Immediately after the game, several of Ingles teammates who were on the floor during the injury offered support to Ingles.

“My brother!” Eric Paschall tweeted who has spent just a few months with Ingles in the Jazz locker room.

Both Jordan Clarkson and Royce O’Neale seemed to be at a loss for words after the injury, tweeting short sentiments to their teammate.

“Man,” Clarkson tweeted with an emoji of two hands praying for Ingles.

O’Neale’s tweet was very similar.

Rudy Gobert, who was in Salt Lake City when the injury happened watching live on TV wasn’t able to articulate his thoughts.

The All-Star center tweeted out his speechlessness immediately after the injury occurred.

“…” Gobert tweeted.

Former Jazz teammates Derrick Favors and Georges Niang also extended their thoughts to the longtime NBA veteran.

Favors spent six playing alongside Ingles in Utah, while Niang shared the floor with the guard for four seasons with the Jazz.

“Speedy recovery @Joeingles7 one of the toughest dudes around!!” Niang tweeted.

Former teammate Ricky Rubio also shared his thoughts on the injury.

Rubio suffered a similar ACL tear earlier this season as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

“… love you hermano. We will be back @Joeingles7

‘the key to success is playing the hand you were dealt like it was the hand you wanted,'” Rubio tweeted.

Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell who was in Minnesota but has himself been sidelined with a concussion for the last two weeks shared his memory of first meeting Ingles during his rookie season with the Jazz.

Ingles, who doesn’t resemble a traditional NBA star quickly gave Mitchell a taste of the reality of playing with professional athletes.

“The moment I came into training camp my rookie year thinking he was just an old dude and he kicked my [butt] and I was thinking how the hell this old [expletive] dude is killin me like this,” Mitchell tweeted.

Ingles will undergo surgery on his knee in the coming weeks as he regains his range of motion.
