LAS VEGAS – Sophomore big Kyle Filipowski and rookie guard Walt Clayton Jr. caught fire in the first half of the Utah Jazz’s opening Las Vegas Summer League contest.
Filipowski’s 13 points and Clayton’s 12 made up over half of Utah’s total as they trailed the Hornets 60-48 at the break.

Clayton scored from all three levels throughout the first two quarters.
He stepped through the lane for layups, pulled up from deep, and even mixed in a mid-range fadeaway.
Meanwhile, Filipowski did most of the same at a much more efficient clip. Shooting 2/5 from three and 5/8 overall, the big man showed that he can score from everywhere, too.

Isaiah Collier (11) was the only other Jazzman to reach double figures in the first half.
