Fans Will Appear On Video Boards Around Court In Orlando During NBA Restart Games

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The NBA is working on ways to involve fans in games during the restart in Orlando despite fans not being able to physically attend games.

The faces of fans watching from home will appear on the video boards around the court in Orlando.
“So what you’ll see in the arena are opportunities for fans to interact, to be seen in the arena and to have hundreds of fans be able to appear on the video boards surrounding the court,” Mark Tatum, deputy commissioner of the NBA, said during a conference call with reporters on Friday.

The NBA has not released details on how the fans would appear on video boards and how it would be screened and monitored.
Also being considered by the NBA is whether or not crowd noise will be piped into the arena. Some fans want to hear players talk trash and listen to conversations on the court.
According to Kurt Helin of NBC Sports, the NBA is setting up personalized streams that allow fans to get what they want from a stream.
The NBA will resume the 2019-20 season on July 30 when the Utah Jazz face the New Orleans Pelicans at 4:30 p.m. MDT.
