Donovan Mitchell Walks Red Carpet At Spider-Man Premiere In D.O.N. Issue #1 Sneakers

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell received movie star treatment as he was seen walking the red carpet at the world premiere of Spider-Man Far From Home.

Nicknamed, “Spida,” Mitchell has taken advantage of his well-known moniker and turned it into endorsement and exposure gold. His partnership with the latest with the ultra-popular Marvel film series is the latest extension in his brand.

In collaboration with Marvel, Mitchell is set to release his signature adidas shoe, the D.O.N. Issue #1, on adidas.com on July 1 with a wider retail release on July 5. The sneaker is set to be released in four different Marvel-related colorways throughout the summer and will feature comic book branding on the shoe and box.

Mitchell arrived on at the red carpet at the world-famous TCL Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard in a pair of his red and blue Issue #1s, except his were a customized luxury edition made in premium materials by Dominic Chambrone, who is better known as The Shoe Surgeon.

Spider-Man Far From Home stars Tom Holland and Jake Gyllenhaal, who both appeared with Mitchell in an ad featuring the Jazz star’s adidas shoes while promoting the film, which will have a worldwide release on July 2.

Also this week, Mitchell wrote a sentimental article in The Player’s Tribune, with his mother, Nicole, in a clever, guest-editing role.

In his second season with Utah, Mitchell managed to improve his scoring output from what was an incredible rookie season. He led the Jazz in scoring with 23.8 points per game and added 4.2 assists and 4.1 rebounds. Led by Mitchell and two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year, Rudy Gobert, the Jazz advanced to the playoffs where they were eliminated by the Houston Rockets in five games.

It was hard to imagine that Mitchell’s popularity could exceed all the mania that surrounded him last summer after his rookie campaign. However, as this week has shown, it’s Mitchell’s world and we’re all just living in it.
