SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – If the Utah Jazz were looking for whiteboard material to give themselves an added edge before Wednesday’s game five, Los Angeles Clippers forward Marcus Morris may have provided it.

Morris, whose twin Markieff plays for the crosstown Lakers has seen a surge in his performance during the playoffs when playing in front of his brother.

When asked if Markieff was planning to make the trip to Utah to watch him play, Morris had a stinging comment for the state.

“No he won’t be coming to Utah,” Morris said. “I don’t know anybody that want to go to Utah.”

The Jazz lost two games in Los Angeles with Morris playing in front of his twin. In games three and four, Morris was a critical piece in the Clippers’ wins, averaging 15.0 points and 4.0 rebounds while shooting 56 percent from the floor and 62 percent from the three-point line.

In games one and two in Utah, Morris averaged just 8.5 points and 6.5 rebounds but shot just 32 percent from the floor and seven percent from three.

“He’s going to stick it out here in L.A., and we’ll see him when we come back,” Morris said of his brother.

It’s not the first time an NBA player has discussed their lack of desire to spend time in Utah, especially when compared with Los Angeles.

During a 2017 playoff matchup with the Golden State Warriors, forward Matt Barnes complained about Utah’s lack of a party scene.

“As far as nightlife, there’s no comparison to nightlife in Utah and L.A.,” Barnes said.

Most famously, former Dallas Mavericks guard Derek Harper nixed a trade to the Jazz, saying “you go play in Utah.”

Morris will certainly feel the wrath of spurned Utahns when he’s introduced in game five. The Jazz and Clippers will tip-off Wednesday night at 7 pm MT.
