Bogdanovic, Utah Jazz Fall To Minnesota Timberwolves After Hot Start

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz suffered a loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves after starting a strong first quarter against the team with the NBA’s second-worst record.

The Jazz hosted the Wolves at at Vivint Arena on Saturday, April 24.

Utah started the game with a 40-26 lead after the first quarter and owned a 17-point lead in the first half.

The Jazz were outscored by 22 points from the start of the second quarter to the end of the third quarter.

An eight-point deficit heading into the final quarter proved to be too much to overcome.

Minnesota defeated Utah, 101-96.

With the win, the Wolves improved their record to 17-44, which is the second-worst record in the league.

It’s the first time that the Jazz have failed to score 100 points in a game since January 11.

Bojan Bogdanovic led the Jazz with 30 points.

The Jazz forward got off to quick start with 13 points in the opening quarter.

He shot 11-20 from the field, including 7-13 from three-point land.

Bogdanovic added four rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 36 minutes.

Utah only had two other players score in double figures, Mike Conley and Jordan Clarkson.

Conley scored 18 points, dished out seven assists, and pulled in four steals.

Clarkson added 15 points to lead Utah’s second unit.

The Jazz finished shooting 40.2 percent overall and 40.4 percent from downtown.

Utah had 20 turnovers in the loss.

Minnesota Timberwolves

By comparison, the T-Wolves shot 43.5 percent for the game and 23.7 percent on triples.

Minnesota had three players score more than 20 points.

Karl-Anthony Towns led the Wolves with 24 points.

Rookie Anthony Edwards poured in 23 points and D’Angelo Russell scored 23 points off the bench.

Up Next

With the loss, the Jazz fell 44-16 on the season, including a 26-4 record at home.

The Timberwolves handed the Jazz their first loss of the season in a five-point game at Vivint Arena on December 26, 2020.

Utah’s next game is the second of back-to-back games with Minnesota.

The Timberwolves are scheduled to host the Jazz on Monday, April 26 at 6 p.m. (MDT).

The game will broadcast on AT&T SportsNet and 97.5 FM.
