SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – If the coronavirus outbreak hasn’t sufficiently spooked you, the recent uptick in your screentime usage probably has. Why phones feel the need to remind just how much of our lives we spend looking at our screens is confounding, but as we’re all currently stuck inside as we self isolate, we should all feel a little less guilty about our relationship with technology.

If you’re a diehard Jazz fan and are looking to fill the void of the sports world by tracking your favorite local stars on social media, this is a list of the best Jazz players and personnel to follow online while you’re trapped inside.

The Top Utah Jazz Players And Family To Follow

Donovan Mitchell: Shooting Guard –  Twitter @spidadmitchell.

It should be no surprise Donovan Mitchell tops this list for the Jazz. He’s got the most followers of any player on the team and does a terrific job making himself available to fans and fellow celebrities alike. The Jazz All-Star is just as likely to send a tweet looking for a local high school sporting event to attend as he is to interact with the best of the best in the world of spots.

He’s even recently launched a Twitch channel where he’s been seen playing with some of the best gamers in the online world.

Joe Ingles: Guard – Twitter @JoeIngles7

Despite his aversion to the media in the locker room, Joe Ingles might be the most active Jazz player on social media. In addition to starting a podcast with his wife Renae, Ingles is frequently interacting with fellow teammates and Jazz fans on Twitter.

Roughly half of Ingles tweets are about his affection for coffee, but there’s plenty of basketball behind the scenes content from the Australian guard to keep every Jazz fan satisfied.

Renae Ingles: Netball Player, Mom, Joe Ingles Wife – Twitter @RenaeIngles

Following family members of Jazz players is often a dicey venture. Who can forget Jazz fans hanging all of their hopes on Gordon Hayward resigning with the Jazz on every tweet from his wife Robyn?

However, having just started (and low-key being the star) a podcast with her husband Joe, Renae Ingles is a solid Twitter follow for Jazz fans.

The majority of her posts are about the various charities the Ingles family is involved with, but she never fails to deliver fantastic photos of Ingleses behind the scenes.

Rudy Gobert: Center – Instagram @RudyGobert27

Rudy Gobert isn’t the most active social media member of the Jazz but his posts are often the most personal of any player on the roster.

The French center is notoriously private off the floor, but his Instagram stories give fans a good view of the life of the Jazz All-Star. One thing that always comes through on Gobert’s social media account is the special bond he feels with his mom who makes frequent appearances on Instagram.

Becky Lindsey: Wife of Jazz VP Dennis Lindsey – Twitter @BEC69116

Unlike some NBA front offices, the Jazz brain trust is almost entirely silent on social media. Neither Jazz coach Quin Snyder or Vice President of Basketball Operations Dennis Lindsey have public social media accounts, leaving Jazz fans looking elsewhere for an inside look at the day to day lives of the Jazz decision-makers.

Enter  Becky Lindsey.

Lindsey is one of the team’s best social media aggregators while also provide a rare look into the lives of the Jazz front office.

Georges Niang: Jazz Forward – Twitter @GeorgesNiang20

Though much of his content is central to his time at Iowa State, Georges Niang is one of the more active Jazz players on social media.

Niang has a good sense of his non-traditional NBA game and isn’t afraid to poke fun at himself on twitter, as he embraces his new persona as the minivan of professional basketball players.

Gordon Chiesa: Former Jazz Assistant Coach – Twitter @GCheisaOhMy

It’s hard to imagine what former Jazz coach Jerry Sloan would say if you asked him about twitter, as the team’s play-caller for so long was hyper-focused on eliminating all of the ancillary pieces of life in basketball.

However, former Jazz assistant coach Gordon Chiesa is one of the greatest auteurs, record keepers, and basketball historians in team history.

Most of Chiesa’s tweets are 240 characters of basketball insight, but if you’re willing to read between the lines, there’s plenty of real world wisdom shared in the coach’s tweets. Remember, sharing is caring!
