Rusnak Comes Off For Real Salt Lake In First Half Against Minnesota United

ORLANDO, Florida – Albert Rusnak was injured in the first half of Real Salt Lake’s match with Minnesota United, and was subbed off in the 34th minute.

Rusnak appeared to have suffered the injury during a challenge deep in Minnesota’s defensive third of the pitch. He was turned around awkwardly while fighting for the ball, and immediately went down holding his hip. Rusnak went down again during the game’s hydration break in the 27th minute, and only lasted another 5 minutes before going down for a third time in the 32nd.

The ESPN crew on-site said the injury is to Rusnak’s hip flexor.
The game was still scoreless when the injury occurred.
He was substituted off for Justin Meram, one of RSL’s newest acquisitions during the 2019-20 offseason.
Rusnak scored RSL’s first goal of the MLS is Back tournament, a 2-0 victory over the rival Colorado Rapids 2-0.
