Noel Caliskan Rocket Gives Real Salt Lake Early Advantage

SANDY, Utah – Noel Caliskan got the scoring started early for Real Salt Lake as he unleashed a left-footed rocket into the top corner for a 1-0 lead over St. Louis City.
RSL (5-10-4, 19 points) is hosting St. Louis City (3-11-6, 15 points)at America First Field on Saturday, July 5.

Caliskan opened his MLS account off a corner kick deflection. Six minutes into the match, the German-born player found the ball at his feet in space, just outside the 18.
Caliskan chested the ball to the ground before unleashing a ferocious line drive that beat a diving Roman Bürki for his first goal with the franchise.
RSL has controlled the opening minutes. The Claret & Cobalt have maintained the 1-0 lead into the 17th minute.
Luna’s Brace Powers U.S. Past Guatemala
After scoring his first international goal in the CONCACAF Gold Cup quarterfinals, Real Salt Lake star Diego Luna led the USMNT past Guatemala in the semifinals.
Luna scored two goals in the first 15 minutes of the match.

In the 4th minute, after Luca de la Torre’s attempt was batted away in front of the net, Luna barreled in to clean up the miss.
About ten minutes later, he did it again.
Malik Tillman sent a cross to Luna to set him up on the left side of the pitch. He pushed in closer and then juked to his right before unloading a shot that painted the left crossbar.

Following an impressive U.S. youth career, Luna made his senior debut in January 2024. He has played in four games with two assists since then.
The most recent appearance, in the CONCACAF Nations League, marked an important moment in Luna’s national career. With an assist and a late near-equalizer, the RSL star was a consensus top performer for the USA.
