SAN DIEGO, California – Real Salt Lake hadn’t generated much pressure until stoppage time, when Diego Luna’s fourth goal gave the team a 1-0 lead.
RSL (3-6-0, 9 points) faced expansion San Diego FC (4-3-2, 13 points) at Snapdragon Stadium on Saturday, April 26.

A turnover on the offensive end gave RSL the opening it needed. Luna stole a pass, dribbled into position, and deposited the shot into the top right corner of the goal.
Moments later, San Diego earned a penalty kick when Alexandros Katranis held him following a corner. Hirving Lozano took advantage, scoring the equalizer right before the end of the half.
RSL adds two former Sporting KC attackers to anemic offense
Real Salt Lake Chief Soccer Officer Kurt Schmid has been busy this week, signing two MLS veterans to boost the team’s punchless offensive attack.
The club added Willy Agada on Wednesday, then followed that move up by signing former Public Enemy No. 1 Johnny Russell two days later.
