SALT LAKE CITY-Â At last night’s season premiere event for Andor in Hollywood, the star of the show, who depicts Cassian Andor on screen, and one of the most exciting up-and-coming soccer talents in the United States linked up, and they just happen to share the same name.

Any Real Salt Lake or United States Men’s National Team fan who has gone searching for Diego Luna’s stats online has probably found that he is not the only celebrity with that name.
Searches for Diego Luna the soccer player have to be specified with “RSL” or “USMNT” because Diego Luna the actor is primarily the first search result, and while the meeting between the two Diegos probably only struck a chord with a very niche audience, it was cool to see worlds collide between two starts who proudly represent their Luna name.
About Diego Luna The Actor
Like Diego Luna of Real Salt Lake, the actor Diego Luna is of Mexican decent, being born in Toluca.
He started his career on a variety of telenovelas, or Mexican soap operas.
Throughout the 2000s, Luna appeared in both Mexican and American films, but most fans today will recognize him for his work in the Star Wars universe. In 2016, Luna first appeared as Cassian Andor in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which is a prequel to A New Hope.
Luna’s character then got a spinoff series on Disney+ called Andor. The series premiered in September of 2022, and now the second season is set to release just a week from now on April 22.
