SALT LAKE CITY – Real Salt Lake midfielder Braian Ojeda delivered a late go-ahead goal with a right-footed banger from the top of the box, slipping it past San Jose’s goalkeeper.
The shot ricocheted off the keeper and made its way into the right side of the net.

After a scoreless first half, the Earthquakes broke the seal early after the break. Shortly after that, an own goal leveled the score at 1-1.
For the next 25 minutes, both sides looked to take the upper hand. Off an assist from Pablo Ruiz, Ojeda was able to give Real just that.
The score was Ojeda’s first of the season. RSL held onto the lead through extra time to close the two-game homestand with a win.
Real Salt Lake Looks For Win At Home Against San Jose Earthquakes
Real Salt Lake plays its second straight at home against the San Jose Earthquakes before hitting the road next weekend.
So far this month, RSL is 3-1. Before the 1-0 loss to Cincinnati last Saturday, the club was undefeated in its last five matches. It is the opposite story for the Quakes. Their last win came over a month ago on June 25.
Currently, San Jose holds the ninth spot in the Western Conference with 29 points. Real Salt Lake trails them by one point in the 10th seed.
This is the second time RSL has faced Chicho Arango and San Jose this year. In February, the Earthquakes scored four goals and held Real scoreless for a statement season-opening win.
