Taysom Hill Injured In Saints Loss To Rams

NEW ORLEANS- Puca Nacua and the Los Angeles Rams crossed two time zones to take on Taysom Hill and the New Orleans Saints in Louisiana. Despite trailing for more than half of the game, the Rams scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to walk away with the 21-14 win, with the game-sealing touchdown being a touchdown catch by Puka Nacua.

However, the Saints lost more than just the game against the Rams as Taysom Hill was carted off the field in the second half after suffering an apparent knee injury.

Details surrounding the injury and a timetable for return will come later this week, but video replay will certainly have fans of Taysom holding their breath. It appeared that Hill’s leg was sandwiched between two Ram’s defenders as he was being brought to the ground, resulting in his knee being bent in the wrong direction.

Unfortunately, this is not Taysom’s first battle with injury this year. He suffered both a bruised lung and a rib injury throughout the season.

About Taysom Hill

Prior to his NFL career, the Idaho native was a quarterback at BYU. Hill played for the Cougars from 2012-16.

During his college career, Hill threw for 6,929 yards, 43 touchdowns, and 31 interceptions. He ran for 2,815 yards and 32 touchdowns.

After going undrafted, Hill signed a free-agent deal with the Green Bay Packers. Before the regular season, Hill was waived by the Packers and picked up by the Saints. Since then, Hill has become a key piece of New Orleans’ offense.

During his NFL career, Hill has played multiple positions, including quarterback, running back, wide receiver, and tight end.

Last season, Hill was 6/11 passing for 83 yards and a touchdown. He also hauled in 33 receptions for 291 yards and two touchdowns. Hill ran for 401 yards and four touchdowns in 2023.

He’s scored 40 touchdowns during his NFL career.
