SALT LAKE CITY – BYU offensive lineman Caleb Etienne signed a free-agent deal with the Cincinnati Bengals following the conclusion of the 2025 NFL Draft.
The news was first broken by BYU Football on Saturday, April 26.

Etienne will join a Bengals team that finished with a 9-8 record in 2024.
Cincinnati was in the bottom half of the NFL in terms of sacks allowed. This was clearly an area of focus for the franchise as they drafted two offensive linemen and then doubled down by adding Etienne as an UDFA.
The former Cougar is a bit of a project at the next level, but the tools are there. In fact, the measurables are so impressive that some thought that he would get drafted just based on that.
NFL Analyst Lance Zierlein wrote this about Etienne before the draft.
From a tape standpoint, Etienne looks more like an undrafted free agent, but his traits will make him hard to pass up as a late-round lottery ticket.

If Etienne can sharpen his technique and improve his mobility, he could become a staple of an O-Line in the NFL for years to come.
About Caleb Etienne
Etienne was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and attended Warren Easton High School, where he was the No. 31 recruit in the state.
He started his collegiate career at Fort Scott Community College in 2019. 247Sports ranked him as the second-best junior college offensive tackle. His impact led to his transferring to Oklahoma State, where he spent two seasons with the Cowboys.
In 2023, Etienne transferred to BYU. With the Cougars, he became truly dominant.
In 2024 with BYU Football, Etienne was named a Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year Honorable Mention, All-Big 12 First Team, and a Phil Steele All-America Honorable Mention.
