SALT LAKE CITY- It has been 29 years since Happy Gilmore, starring Adam Sandler, was released in February 1996, and now after a long wait, we will see where Happy’s golf career took him in a Netflix exclusive sequel.
Among the star-studded cast is the 28th-ranked golfer in the world and Rose Park, Utah native Tony Finau, who will appear in Happy Gilmore 2 alongside several other PGA and LIV Pros.

In the first film, we follow the unlikely journey of Happy Gilmore, a failed hockey player turned golf pro, thanks to his incredible ability to hit the long ball. Happy earns his way on Tour, needing the money to save his grandmother’s house. Throughout the movie, Gilmore develops a rivalry with another golfer named Shooter McGavin, eventually beating him in the Tour Championship to save the house.
In the original, former host of The Price Is Right, Bob Barker, makes an appearance, but it seems that in the sequel we will see Happy interact with actual golfers.
In a behind-the-scenes look from Netflix, we can see current and former pros like Will Zalatoris, Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, Bubba Watson, Justin Thomas, Keegan Bradley, Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler, Collin Morikawa, World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, and Tony Finau representing the Beehive State.
While an exact date for the release of Happy Gilmore 2 has not yet been determined, we at least know that the movie will come out sometime in 2025.
