Gina Kim Battles Wind, Overcomes Adversity In Copper Rock Championship Win

HURRICANE, Utah – Gina Kim never saw the lead in rounds one or two, but she put it all together when it mattered most to claim her third Epson Tour victory at the Copper Rock Championship on Saturday.
Kim finished with a -3 in the third round, the only golfer in contention to shoot under par on the final day.

Gina Kim Claims Copper Rock Championship Title
The elements were testing the field in the third round, as strong winds pestered the golfers from early in the day.
Melanie Green and Hailee Cooper, the two golfers tied for first after round two, felt the effects and finished at +1 and +3, respectively.
Kim made it interesting for the field after bogeys on holes 15 and 18. She gave Green a chance to force a playoff, but she pushed her final putt to give Kim the outright win.

The performance gave Kim her second Epson Tour win of the season and her third overall.
Kim’s mother, Sangsuk, was her caddy for the tournament. She joined her for the final interviews and a picture with the trophy.

About the Copper Rock Championship
The Copper Rock Championship is a tournament on the LPGA’s developmental tour. It has been played annually at Copper Rock Golf Course in Hurricane, Utah, since 2021.
Copper Rock is a par 72 course with a yardage of 6,537.
Fiona Xu, Savannah Carlson, Dottie Ardina, and Bailey Tardy have previously won the Copper Rock Championship.
