The Utah Hockey Club opened their final road trip of their inaugural season against the second-place team in the Central Division, the Dallas Stars. Utah was seeking its first-ever win over the Stars, having fallen to Dallas in their previous three matchups this year.

The Utah Hockey Club got of the rough start in Dallas, giving up a power play goal just a few minutes into the game. Though Utah was behind the ball from the get go, they fought through another penalty kill, and then Barrett Hayton tied the game before the end of the first.

In the second, Utah committed another blunder when Star Brendan Smith scored a short handed goal for his first of the season, putting Utah a goal down once again.

Sean Durzi wiped that deficit out on the same power play, being assisted by Jack McBain and Logan Cooley, scoring the first of three unanswered goals from the Hockey Club. With newfound momentum, Logan Cooley and Josh Doan both netted goals before the end of the period, entering the intermission up 4-3.

To open the third period, Nick Schmaltz extended the lead for Utah with a 4-on-4 goal.

Utah dominated the rest of the third period and closed out their first ever win over the Dallas Stars 5-3.
