Whittingham Dismisses WR Perriman From Utah Football Following Additional Charges

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah football head coach Kyle Whittingham announced that wide receiver Terrell Perriman was dismissed from the Utes football program.
Whittingham announced the receiver’s dismissal after additional charges were filed against Perriman on Friday, February 21.
“Terrell Perriman has been dismissed from our football program,” Whittingham said in a statement. “He was suspended indefinitely when we initially became aware of the incident that led to his arrest. At that time we said we would monitor the situation as it moved through the legal process. Today we were made aware of additional charges that led to our decision to dismiss him. Because of the ongoing legal process, and with Terrell no longer a part of our program, we will have no further comments regarding the situation.”

Perriman was arrested in January on charges of suspicion of kidnapping, rape and enticing a minor, according to arresting documents.
On Friday, February 21, the former Utah receiver had six more felony charges filed against him according to court documents. Additional charges were filed against Perriman after two more women stepped forward with claims that Perriman sexually assaulted them.
With the new charges in place, Perriman now faces first-degree felonies including three counts of rape and two counts of forcible sodomy. He also faces second-degree felony charges of burglary and forcible sexual abuse. Perriman’s also been charged with a third-degree felony charge for aggravating kidnapping.
Prosecutors have asked the Perriman to be held on a bond of $750,000. A court hearing regarding his bail is scheduled for March 2.
The former Utah wide receiver played in 10 games at the position for the Utes. The 2019 season was his redshirt freshman season.
