Utah’s Ja’Quinden Jackson Powers Into End Zone Against Washington State

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah running back Ja’Quinden Jackson fought his way through defenders before reaching the ball across the goal line for a touchdown against the Washington State Cougars.
The Cougars hosted the Utes at Martin Stadium in Pullman, Washington.
With 9:23 remaining in the first half, Jackson took a handoff from Bryson Barnes before running up the middle for six yards and six points. A few feet before the goal line, Jackson was met by the Wazzu defense. The quarterback turned running back battled through the would-be tacklers and into the end zone for his second touchdown run of the season.

Jackson’s run tied the game at 7-7.
The score capped a seven-play, 65-yard drive that took 4:01.
After the run, Jackson had four rushes for 18 yards and a score.

Jackson entered the contest with 16 carries for 65 yards and a touchdown in four games played this season.

The Cougars opened their 2022 slated on a hot streak, winning their first three contests, including a road win over the Wisconsin Badgers. However, after a home loss to the Oregon Ducks, the Cougars have lost three of their last four games and the last two in a row.
The Utes and Cougars have previously played each other 19 times. Utah owns a 10-9 lead in the series all-time. The Utes won the last meeting between the two schools, 24-13, in 2021.
