Utah QB, Texas Transfer Cam Rising Eligible For Alamo Bowl

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – University of Utah quarterback and former Texas Longhorn Cameron Rising is eligible to play against his former team in the Alamo Bowl.
Utes head coach Kyle Whittingham told the media on Saturday that when the Utes take the field on December 31 that Rising will be eligible to play.
“He is eligible for the bowl game,” Whittingham declared. “You have to sit out one year and that year has expired come bowl time.”

Rising has been used as the scout team quarterback all season long to help the defense prepare for their next opponent. The sophomore from Ventura, California
“We don’t pump him for information,” Whittingham said. “It is more about the culture and that type of thing rather than specifics.”
Rising was a four star recruit coming out of high school and decided to join Utah after one season with the Longhorns.
The Alamo Bowl will take place on Tuesday, December 31 at 5:30 p.m. in the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
